Coffee, Tea or Tang?

Thursday July 24, 2003
Astronaut EncounterIn 1965, Tang — short for "tangy" and its "tang-erine" taste — accompanied the Gemini astronauts in space flight, and that helped garner its reputation as a "nutritionally balanced futuristic food." After landing on the moon in 1969 with the Apollo 11 crew, Tang was grounded and found fame among the Saturday Night crowd where Beldar Conehead consumed mass quantities of the orange powder – dry and straight from the jar.

You won't be served Tang when you Dine with An Astronaut at Kennedy Space Center, but you will get an out-of-this-world experience. Every day of the week, this lunchtime program enables you to sit down and meet a true space hero in person.
