Surfin' Gear at Airports?

Sunday March 20, 2005
Even though they are miles away from any of Florida's beaches, passengers at two of Florida's airports can now catch the wave of surfing merchandise flying off the shelves. Ron Jon Surf Shop, for years a Cocoa Beach surfing tradition, can now be found in Orlando International Airport and Tampa International Airport. Each store is open daily and emulates a beach environment, with surfboard display fixtures and island-themed background music. They carry a wide variety of what people expect at Ron Jon's — surf brand apparel, accessories, home decor and of course, surfboards. So, now you can get a jump on your beach vacation and stock up on suntan oil or you can pick up those forgotten souvenirs and postcards for your friends back home — all from a convenient airport location.
