Katrina's Biggest Hit May Be To Your Wallet
Monday August 29, 2005
As the Big Easy is taking a big hit from Hurricane Katrina, experts are warning that the biggest hit may be a financial one. MSNBC.com is reporting that Katrina could bring oil price to $70 a barrel. Nearly 30 percent of this nation's oil is produced by oil refineries in the area being hardest hit by Katrina. Also, shipping across the Gulf of Mexico and up the Mississippi River have been disrupted, which will cause delays in shipments of gasoline to the nation. Florida, as well as the rest of the nation, could experience not only higher prices at the pump, but gasoline shortages that may affect Labor Day Weekend travel. Of course, expect those higher prices at the pump to affect your wallet in other areas as well. | Gas Saving Tips |
