Florida's Most Expensive Restaurants
Wednesday October 12, 2005
According to Forbes, American's spent $884 per person eating out in 2003. Although that would barely cover dinner for two at the New York eatery Masa, which was THE most expensive restaurant in America, according to Forbes' annual top 20 list Most Expensive U.S. Restaurants 2005. It's no wonder, the restaurant's menu starts at $350 that's per person, without wine or the tip. But, that's New York. What about Florida? Although hardly in the top 10, two Florida restaurants did make the steep-not-cheap list:- Disney dining has gone high class at Victoria & Albert's, located in the opulent Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on Disney World property. The seven-course seasonal menu is served in an atmosphere that seems out of character for the themed amusement park giant we're talking real linens and silver here. The daily customized menu starts at $95, without wine ($145 with wine) and can include delicacies as the pictured Butter Poached Maine Lobster Salad With Florida Tangerine Vinaigrette and 100-year aged Balsamic. - Tampa's Six Tables provides an intimate atmosphere that was best described by Forbes as "like being the guest of honor at the exclusive private dinner party of your best friend." Of course, there are only six tables (thus the name) and one seating each night, but it is the service(think champagne served on a silver platter) and food (modern Continental with a French influence) that sells the pricey six-course menu starting at $70 a person (without wine or gratuity).
