Florida's State Parks Celebrate the Season

Leave the hustle and bustle of the holidays behind and "get back to nature" while you enjoy some holiday festivities at these Florida State Park events.
- Holiday Cruise and Dinner
Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park
December 8 - 5:00 p.m.
Looking to enjoy a romantic evening out? What about a cruise on the Wakulla River followed by dinner in the historic lodge and an old-fashioned sing-a-long by the Christmas tree. $29.00 person ($18 for children 12 and under). Reservations required. Please call 850-224-5950. - Night of Lights
Fort Cooper State Park
December 7 thru 13 - 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
December 7th and 8th enjoy free refreshements, entertainment and a visit with Santa. December 9th thru 13th enjoy the tranquil setting of the park with lights and luminaries. Admission is a canned good or new toy for local Citrus United Basket. - Festival of Lights & Christmas Boat Parade
Fanning Springs State Park
December 10 - 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Boat Parade at 6:30 p.m.)
You won't want to miss the live music, arts and crafts, food, games, classic car show, motorcycle showcase and a special appearance by Santa. In the evening, boats decorated with holiday lights and decorations provide a spectacular parade along the Suwannee River.
- Caverns Christmas
Florida Caverns State Park
December 9 - 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. (C.S.T.)
Hot cider and cookies are provided to all who join the park staff in a celebration of the holiday season. Admission is a donated toy or food item or monetary donation. All donations go to the Jackson County Christmas Fund.
- Santa Over the Rainbow
Rainbow Springs State Park
December 16, 17 & 18 - 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
See Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive via the Rainbow River on their decorated "sleigh" and enjoy thousands of lights throughout the park while listening to live music. - Christmas Celebration of Lights
Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park
December 16 - Opening Night
December 17 - Celebrate Holidays Homosassa "Southern Style" with a Country Christmas
December 18, 20, 21 & 23 - Peace In the Park Tranquility Nights
December 19 - Caribbean Christmas December 22 - Welcome Santa to a Wildlife Wonderland
- Holiday in the Gardens
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park
December 9 & 10 - 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Over 2000 luminaries will line the garden pathways and the gardens will come to life with lights and holiday decorations. Admission is one unwrapped gift per vehicle or one non-perishable food item per person.
