Hurricane Preparation 2006: Tag... You're It!
Sunday May 7, 2006
Preparing for the upcoming hurricane season isn't a game, but today's preparation tip can be that simple. Decide NOW to make someone out-of-state a family contact and make sure each family member knows the name, city and phone number of that person.
As I watched the coverage of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I was heartbroken by the number of family members that became separated and couldn't find each other. As a parent, I couldn't imagine finding myself in the horrifying position of not knowing where my children were... or even if they were safe. That doesn't have to happen to your family if you pick up the phone today and make this part of your plan.
