Hurricane Preparation 2006: Tax Holiday Reminder

Saturday May 20, 2006
The Florida Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday begins tomorrow at 12:01 a.m. and ends at midnight Thursday, June 1. The last few days we've covered all the qualifying items including radios, flashlights, batteries, generators and much more. They are listed in detail here:      Remember that according to Florida's Department of Revenue Tax Information Publication, "if the sales price of a qualifying item exceeds the allowable threshold amount (listed below) this tax exemption will not apply and the total purchase price is subject to tax."

If you have questions, you can call a Department of Revenue representative at Taxpayer Services — 800-352-3671 or 850-488-6800. Persons with hearing or speech impairments may call the TDD line at 800-367-8331 or 850-922-1115.
