Take One Down, Pass It Around at Epcot

Tuesday September 26, 2006
Epcot International Food & Wine FestivalProbably everyone has sang the rousing chorus of 100 Bottles of Beer On the Wall at one time or another. The lyrics were simple:

100 bottles of beer on the wall,
    100 bottles of beer-r-r-r,
Take one down, pass it around,
99 bottles of beer on the wall.
Each verse you would subtract a bottle... counting down until you reached just one. Whether it was at summer camp or passing the miles in the family stationwagon, I'm not sure I ever remember singing long enough to get that far. Well, imagine starting at 33,000 bottles. That's how many bottles of wine and champagne that festival-goers are expected to "down" at Epcot during the six-week International Food and Wine Festival that kicks off Friday.

The largest food and wine event of its kind in the world, the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will celebrate 11 years of first-rate wine and cuisine by serving up authentic cuisine, wine, entertainment and cultures of more than 25 international regions. New this year are exotic new Thailand and Argentina marketplaces that offer exciting new tastes and a new Turkey cultural experience showcases Turkish coffee, cuisine and crafts.

The event, which is included with regular Epcot admission, also includes Eat to the Beat! concerts performed three times each evening at America Gardens Theatre in World Showcase. The concerts feature top entertainment, including the well-known Beach Boys, Little Richard, Three Dog Night, The Four Tops and more!
