Flamingo Gardens Bunny.jpgCentral Florida
  • Celebrate the dawn of a special day at Bok Tower, which will host their 81st Annual Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 8 at 7:00 a.m. The sunrise will be heralded atop peninsular Florida's highest point with the music of a 60-bell carillon, brass ensemble and the Lake Wales Chorale. Admission is complementary from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Afterwards, stay and enjoy a delicious Easter buffet in the Carillon Café for only $8.95 and two special Easter Carillon Recitals at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
  • Enjoy an Easter brunch at the Gaylord Palms' with a very special guest who will hop in just for the occasion — the Easter Bunny! The special occasion will serve up special culinary creations at Villa de Flora from noon until 10:00 p.m. The buffet is $39.00 per person ($19.50 for children ages 3-12), plus tax and gratuity. Call 407-586-1114 for reservations.
  • Free admission to the public is offered during the Morse Museum's annual Easter Weekend Open House, April 6-8. Hours are Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Eggs-citing is the word for the thousands of plastic eggs that will be hidden at Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park on Saturday, April 7. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet children and for photos, as well as the costumed character, Rockey the Manatee. Children will be divided into age groups and those collecting certain eggs will be awarded prizes, including baskets of treat and U.S. Savings Bonds. Registration for the hunts begin at 8:30 a.m.

North Florida
  • Celebrate Easter with gospel choirs, soloists and clergy from the local community who gather together for a beautiful sunrise service at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center in White Springs.
  • The city's carriage horses will wear hats donated by nationally recognized women when the parade marches through St. Augustine on Easter Sunday, April 8. The parade of marching bands, floats, drill teams and clowns begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Mission Nombre de Dios and winds through downtown St. Augustine.

South Florida
  • Bring your children and your camera to Flamingo Gardens on Easter weekend — April 7 & 8. Meet the Bunny each day from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Special admission is $12.00 for adults and $5.50 for children (4-11) and includes the Annual Orchid/Bromeliad Expo & Sale, botanical gardens and wildlife exhibits, live Wildlife Encounter Shows and historic 1930s Wray Home. The narrated tour by tram is available at an additional charge. Children age 3 and under are admitted free and parking is always free.
  • The Easter Bunny will host an Underwater Easter Egg Hunt off Key Largo. The annual search for Easter eggs will benefit Kids in Special Situations (KISS), a local charity for needy children. Call 305-451-3020 for further information.
  • You'll want to hop on over to one of South Florida's most popular Easter Egg Hunt celebrations on Easter weekend — Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 6 - 8 — at the Miami Seaquarium. Featured Easter Egg Hunts will run continuously and each child participating will receive goodies!
  • Guests to the Naples Zoo April 6-8 will enjoy watching the animals claw and gnaw into special treat-filled eggs prepared especially for them by the zookeepers.
