Hail to the Chief

Wednesday July 1, 2009
Barack ObamaThe ever popular Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom will re-launch July 4th with an Audio-Animatronics likeness of Barack Obama joining all of the past presidents in the Liberty Square attraction. He will have a speaking role, along with the figures of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

Besides adding the country's 44th chief executive, other updates include a re-programmed Abraham Lincoln who delivers the greatest speech in the history of the presidency — the Gettysburg Address — and for the first time in the attraction's history, George Washington stands and delivers a stirring speech. Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin assisted in the transformation. Now the show focuses on the chief executives who have guided America through trying, turbulent times forging a bond between the presidents and "We, the People." The makeover is so significant, that the attraction has been renamed — The Hall of Presidents: A Celebration of Liberty's Leaders.
