Florida Easter Weekend Celebrations

Flamingo Gardens BunnyIt's just a little over a week until Easter. If you're looking for meet-and-greet opportunities with the Easter Bunny or special ways to celebrate this religious holiday, you'll want to hop on over to one of these popular memory-making eggs-travaganzas!

  • Bring your camera and your children to Meet the Bunny at Flamingo Gardens from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 3 & 4. The Orchid/Bromeliad Show & Sale is the same weekend from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and tours of the Historic Wray Home are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Special half-price admission of $8.50 for those 12 and up and $4.25 for ages 4-11. Children under 4 are admitted free.

  • Bok Tower Gardens will host their 83th Annual Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 4 at 7:00 a.m. featuring the 60-bell Singing Tower carillon and the Lake Wales Chorale. Admission is free from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. Afterwards, enjoy two Easter Carillon Recitals at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. and an Easter buffet in the Blue Palmetto Cafe. Admission is $10 for ages 13 and older, $3 for children 5-12, and under age 5 are free. There is an additional charge for the buffet.

  • Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs will host an Easter Sunrise Service on April 4 at 6:45 a.m. Those in attendance will celebrate Easter with gospel choirs, soloists, 97-bell carillon and clergy from the local community. Admission is free.

  • Easter sunrise services at SeaWorld Orlando has become a tradition. The doors open at 6:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 7:00 a.m. Steven Brown, the voice from Key life Network You Think About That! will be the guest speaker and Z artist Meredith Andrews will lead the worship. Parking and admission are free, although a "love offering" will be taken. Admission to SeaWorld after the service is not included.

  • The Great Metrozoo Egg Safari will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 3 & 4, at Miami's Metro Zoo with continuous egg hunts for children ages 12 and under and photos with the Easter Bunny. Also watch the animals hunt for their own eggs! Admission is $15.95 (plus tax) for those 13 and older, $11.95 (plus tax) for ages 3-12, and those two and under admitted free of charge.

  • Miami Seaquarium will host its annual Egg Hunt Celebration Easter weekend — Friday, April 2 through Sunday, April 4. Egg hunts and activities will run continuously throughout the day. The park opens daily at 9:30 a.m. and the celebration takes place between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Be sure to check out "Bunny-palo za" featuring five acres of rides, slides, music, bounce houses and other fun activities. Also, don't miss the Easter Bunny Arrival Parade each day at 11:00 a.m. featuring costumed characters — Flipper, the dolphin; Lolita, the killer whale; Roc, the crocodile; and, Romeo, the manatee. They will be joined by some of your favorite South Florida mascots.

  • Watch Lowry Park Zoo's orangutans have their own Easter hunting Easter eggs on Friday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m. This annual event is included in zoo admission and is free for zoo pass holders.

  • Celebrate Easter in Orlando from malls that offer meet the bunny opportunities to communities and attractions holding sunrise services. About.com's Orlando Guide, Theresa Johnston has compiled them all!

  • Easter in Miami is a beautiful time of year, with special Easter celebrations taking place at area attractions and fabulous Easter brunches at area restaurants — all reported by About.com's Miami Guide, Renee Chapple.
