Tropical Storm Rina
Sustained Winds: 60 mph
Location: Latitude 20.1 N & Longitude 87.2 W
About 35 miles south-southwest of Cozumel Mexico
Moving: North at mph
Those that may be vacationing and cruising near Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula will continue to see rainy and windy weather conditions over the next 24 hours due to Tropical Storm Rina. Rina is expected to remain near the northeastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula tonight and possibily into Friday. A decrease in forward speed is expected Friday or Friday night and additional weakening is forecast over the next 48 hours. Forecasters do not expect the storm to threaten South Florida, but it is likely moisture from the storm will reach the Florida Peninsula over the weekend. That combined with a cold front that is expected to drop into the state raises the chances of rain throughout Florida from Friday through Monday. Because tropical storms are unpredictable, those living in or traveling to Florida are encouraged to stay informed on the storm's location and anticipated path.
