In South Florida for the holidays? Visit the 1930s Wray Home at Flamingo Gardens & Wildlife Sanctuary every day from this Saturday, December 7 through December 31, 2012. While daily hours are 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. — on Fridays and Saturdays through December 22, Flamingo Gardens will extend hours from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. so guests can enjoy the lights at dusk and a special holiday concert. The additional hours are included with regular admission. Those wishing to attend just the extended hours will pay just $5 per person (free for members). On December 15 & 22, Flamingo Gardens will hold "Santa's Little Helpers." Children will help Mrs. Claus decide if the animals have been naughty or nice and help pass out gifts to the animals from Santa. Special performances and activities will be featured on these days.
Voted the best place to take out-of-town guests for the past several years, Flamingo Gardens is also a great place to take children while they're on winter break. Enjoy the botanical gardens, native animal and bird exhibits, including the free-flight aviary, and see a life Wildlife Encounter show. You can even do some holiday shopping. The Gift Shop, Garden Shop and Tropical Marketplace offer a wide variety of shopping experiences, including shipping delectable Florida fruit and gourmet food items.
Flamingo Gardens is open daily, except Christmas Day. Admission is $18 for ages 12 and up; $10.00 for children 4-11; $15.00 for seniors, military and college students with ID.
