Here Comes Santa Claus... with a tropical twist!
It isn't hard to believe that after Santa spends much of the year at the North Pole that he wouldn't enjoy the warmer climate of Florida. It seems he gets away to the Sunshine State about this time every year for a little R&R before his all-night Christmas Eve sleigh ride because he is sighted in the most unlikely places.
Florida Gulf Coast Railroad's annual Christmas Trains depart Parrish Station at 11 am., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m on December 17, 18 & 19. The daytime trains are Decked to the Halls for Christmas. The night time North Pole Express carry guests on a delightful ride where you'll join carolers in song and arrive at the North Pole where Santa will greet every child. Advance reservations are suggested.
All aboard for Florida West Coast Railroad's holiday train rides. The 2004 Christmas Train will depart Newberry Station December 18-24 and 26-29 every hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
You most likely will see Santa Saturday, December 4, in the Venice Christmas Boat Parade amid the glittering of holiday lights.
Santa playfully water skis nightly now through the holidays at Pier 60's FantaSea of Lights in Clearwater where you'll also see surfing gators and dancing dolphins amid special holiday lights and the usual sunset festivities.
It is rumored that Santa will arrive December 11 at the Edison-Ford Estate's Holiday House in, what else but a vintage Ford.
You won't find him at the gym. Remember round is his shape. You're more likely to find him at Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show. And, if your appetite is as big as Santa's, you'll enjoy Christmas at Dixie! that includes dinner, nostalgic holiday entertainment with all your favorite Christmas songs and Santa arriving in the traditional way... his sleigh.
