Truckloads of Sparkle
Although I started the day after Thanksgiving, it took me a week to finish my holiday decorations. It's not that they are that elaborate, it simply takes time to fit the decorating into my already busy schedule. When Disney World decks the halls, it takes truckloads of decorations plus hundreds of decorators and others to adorn the 47-square-mile resort. Months of planning and work go into the preparations, then it takes only a few magical nights to make the resort sparkle. This is a sample of the enormous amount of material it takes to make it all happen:

  • 150 tractor-trailer truckoads of decorations
  • 15 miles of garland is strung throughout the Vacation Kingdom
  • 300,000 yards of ribbon and bows draping over 1,500 Christmas trees
  • 30,000 synchronized lights in a sparkling canopy over the bridge between Future World and World Showcase at Epcot
  • 11 countries dressed for Holidays Around the World at Epcot World Showcase
  • 1 65-foot-tall centerpiece Christmas tree at Epcot decorated with 120 colorful yuletide banners printed with holiday greetings in 30 languages and one 48-inch-tall angel placed atop the 780-inch tree
