St. Augustine Lighthouse
St. Augustine, Florida

This lighthouse is on the National Register Listing. The light at St. Augustine was established the first time in 1824, but the present tower was first lighted in 1874. It is operated as a private non-profit museum, depending on the proceeds from the public's admission and donations to preserve and operate the site. The lighthouse is open daily to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and there is a museum and gift shop that are handicapped accessible. To reach the top of this 167 ft. structure, you just have to climb 219 steps. St. Augustine Lighthouse>
