Although located in the upscale Amelia Island Plantation, this jewel of a restaurant is not only open every evening for dinner to the resort's guests, but to the public, as well. The restaurant features specially-prepared delicacies from the sea, plus steak, chicken, chops and Chef's special theme nights. Its resort casual atmosphere is family-friendly, even offering an affordable children's menu.

Guide Review - Restaurant Review: The Verandah
Our whirlwind afternoon touring the Amelia Island Plantation was topped off with a wonderfully relaxing dinner for two at The Verandah. My husband and I enjoyed the view until our waitress brought our drinks and salad. The Verandah Salad is superb! The greens are topped off with almonds, sunflower seeds and Chinese noodles, but it is the roasted sesame seed dressing that makes the salad indescribably delicious. The salad is included with your entrée or it can be ordered a la carte.
Although the restaurant specializes in fresh seafood dishes, and several seafood entrées came highly recommended, we settled on landlubber fare. My husband ordered the grilled pork tenderloin that was topped with stewed mangos and a tasty Caribbean sauce. I tried the pan-roasted free-range chicken with a Zinfandel and fresh thyme sauce. Both meals came with a crunchy fresh-vegetable medley and a basket of fresh bread. The food was well portioned and cooked to tender perfection.
