Honeymoon Island boasts about four miles of sandy beach where you can soak up the sun. Sand dunes with natural vegetation are the backdrop for this stretch of Gulf beach, with access via wooden walkways that span the protected dunes.

Except for a small stretch along the south end of the island, the sand along the Gulf shoreline is not very wide, even eroding to almost nothing in places. Shelling is the best on the north end of the beach. Paved parking is plentiful in three different locations.

Charming wooden swings and benches, located along the edge of the natural shoreline, lure visitors to sit and enjoy the Florida sun, Gulf breezes and amazing sunsets.

Honeymoon Island allows you to bring your faithful companion and enjoy the beach together at the designated Pet Beach located on the south end of the island. Look for signs directing you to the beach just after entering the park. It is one of the few places in Pinellas County that allows pets on the beach. Of course, for the safety and enjoyment of all visitors, pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet and under your control at all times.
