Whether you are a person with special needs — perhaps someone that depends on power to run medical equipment — or a senior citizen without transportation, you may need assistance should a hurricane threaten your area and you are forced to evacuate. Each county provides special shelters that are equipped to handle those with special medical needs, but you must be registered in advance. Transportation is also provided to those who are pre-registered.
