Harry P. Leu Gardens
Orlando

Visitors can enjoy "Old Florida" at a leisurely pace through miles of paved scenic walkways shaded by ancient oaks, forests of Camellias, and giant Camphor trees. Garden settings include the largest formal rose garden in Florida, America's largest Camellia collection outside of California, and the new Tropical Stream Garden.

The Harry P. Leu Gardens are open daily 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except Christmas day. Admission is $7.00 for adults, and $2.00 for all children (grades K-12). Free admission for pre-school children. Monday morning 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon is free (excluding tour groups).

The Leu House Museum is open 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with tours every thirty minutes on the hour and half hour. The last tour is 3:30 p.m. The Museum is closed in July.

Sunken Gardens
St. Petersburg

Vine covered walls provide a welcome relief from the fast-paced world of theme parks at St. Petersburg's historic attraction, Sunken Gardens. Visitors to this four-acre garden can wander 15 feet below street level down meandering paths lined with specimen tropical trees and flowering plants.

If you are in the area this is a nice mid-day diversion. Daily wildlife shows are available. The gardens hours are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors, and $4.00 for children (ages 2-11).
