Space Mountain was Disney World's first roller coaster and is still one of the most thrilling attractions in any of the Disney theme parks. The white building that houses Space Mountain is an instantly recognizable structure that dominates Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom. Guests are hurled through dark passages full of corkscrew turns and high speed dips on sleek and fast rocket ships.
Ride Overview
Your journey into space begins with an innovative waiting queue area with in-line video games (just make sure you know which controller is yours as you play). Riders proceed down a series of gentle ramps to the loading area. Space Mountain's rocket ships seat six riders in a single file line, and riders should be prepared to step down into a rocket ship to ride.
Once your rocket ship leaves the loading dock, prepare to blast off on a high speed adventure that is intensified by the atmosphere — Space Mountain is dark inside, so you won't know what direction you will be heading in next.
Lost item alert! If the fast pace of Space Mountain has caused you to lose a hat, pair of sunglasses or other item, head to Lost and Found to retrieve it.
Best For:
Space Mountain is best for older kids and teens, and thrill riders of any age will enjoy this classic attraction. While Space Mountain offers plenty of thrills, there are no inversions or loops.
