South Beach's Art Deco District
South Beach's Lincoln Road
Compliments of Greater Miami CVB
Considered "south" of downtown, South Beach, a.k.a. "America's Riviera," is a whimsical collection of more than 800 architecturally protected buildings from the 1930s and 40s has been given the nod and transformed into a super chic destination of celebrities and an urban neighborhood of eccentric residents.

While celebrities strut their stuff, upping the glamour quotient around hotel pools, in restaurants and on the dance floor at nightclubs, it is hard to believe the area was once a downtrodden slum. The transformation into a pastel wonderland of painstakingly renovated architectural treasures, has brought global fame for the historically protected Art Deco District.

This popular visitor destination is home to a mix of luxury resorts, chic hotels, inexpensive hostels and moderately-priced national chain hotels. While Ocean Drive is known worldwide for its see-and-be-seen cafes, bikini-clad in-line skaters and beaches packed with beautiful young sunseekers, Lincoln Road has emerged as a lively magnet for culture, entertainment and retail business.

The lights might be bright in downtown Miami, but South Beach definitely has a sexy chic appeal.
