History: The Blue Moon, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the union of two hotels — the Art Deco-style Lafayette and the Mediterranean-style Les Suites — now connected by an arched breezeway. Of course, the Blue Moon Hotel was named after the song "Blue Moon" which was written by Rogers and Hart. Merv Griffin, who owned the hotel at the time of the name change was a big fan of Rogers and Hart.
