Elegant Dining in Eclectic Atmosphere
The Gaylord Palms Resort's Old Hickory Steakhouse is located in the Everglades Atrium is just steps away from the hotel, yet feels like its another world away. Its eclectic setting marries a rustic, weathered-wood atmosphere with the implements of fine dining for an upscale, but comfortable dining experience. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful wait staff provide impeccable service, from appetizers through dessert.
Although there were children dining with their parents when we dined in the early evening, there is no children's menu.

Our party of two — my husband and myself — arrived five minutes early for our weekday reservation and were seated immediately. My husband started with a salad of field greens ($9) and ordered the 20 oz. "Cowboy Ribeye" ($43). He raved that it was the best steak he had ever had — cooked perfectly and very tender. Two kinds of fresh rolls (along with butter and a sample of Artisan cheese) arrived with my husband's salad. The bread and cheese were so delicious, that I over indulged a bit. I was glad I ordered the Romaine Wedge Salad ($12) with dried cranberries, bacon, shaved cheese and walnuts with Asiago Dressing as my main course. We both shared Belgian Fried Potatoes ($11) that were crispy outside and melt-in-your-mouth soft on the inside. Everything was served beautifully and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert.
