November 19, 2011 through January 31, 2012
Every year, from late November through January, more than two million tiny white lights glow in the city of St. Augustine at the annual Nights of Lights celebration. The celebration's origin can be traced back to the Spanish tradition of displaying a lighted white candle during the Christmas season. The spectacular display of Nights of Lights illuminates the entire downtown area, creating a beautiful holiday setting in historic St. Augustine.
