Keeping lawns green in Florida takes a lot of water and like much of the Southeast, Florida has been experiencing dought conditions. Because of that, many counties in the Sunshine State have watering restrictions. Because we are only allowed to water once a week, our lawn has suffered. Some in our neighborhood have torn out their grass and instead planted native shrubs and flowers that are dought-resistent. This could very well be the future of Florida landscape. If it is, we could all take a lesson from Disney's lush Xeriscape garden. It was beautiful!
