Raymond James Stadium is one of the nation's premier sports facilities. The 65,000-seat stadium (expandable to 75,000 for Super Bowl day), referred to as the most "fan oriented" stadium in the United States, features state-of-the-art technology and enhanced fan comfort to turn the excitement of NFL football into a full day of entertainment.

NFL owners have awarded the 2009 Super Bowl to Tampa Bay's Raymond James Stadium. The nation's most coveted sports event — tentatively scheduled for February 1, 2009 — has been hosted by Tampa Bay three other times (1984, 1991 & 2001). It's believed that Tampa's track record as a Super Bowl site, its pleasant February weather and an variety of outdoor activities helped Tampa Bay overcome stiff competition to be awarded the 2009 championship game.
