Guide Review - Amelia Island Carriages
Although Amelia Island Carriages has three carriages and four horses, we were escorted and entertained by Boomer and Cindy. Cindy is the owner of Amelia Island Carriages, and Boomer is the horse... of course.Cindy has plenty of experience in the carriage business and you can tell she feels at home behind the reins. Boomer on the other hand is new to the whole carriage thing. He's a grey Percheron who had spent time as a working horse in a lumber operation and in an Amish community. He seems like he's living large now dressed in bows and braids and pulling classy carriages.
Cindy is one of those people that you feel like you've known all your life. Her storytelling style is animated and so interesting, you want her to tell you more.
I highly recommend this tour as an interesting and enjoyable way to see the city. It was fun to experience the history of a town from the same mode of transporation that those who built it may have used.
