Embry-Riddle Aerospace Camps
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach offers a residential summer program for young people that might have their heads in the sky... literally. The programs are designed to encourage and nuture an interest in specific aerospace-related and aeronautical-related fields and industry.Although the programs at first seem expensive they do include supervised housing, on-campus meals, course fees for 3 college credits, classroom instruction, books, materials, and field trips.
The following are a list of available programs and costs:
- Aerospace I June 22 to July 15 (Ages 15-18) $4,500
- Aerospace II July 19 to August 9 (Ages 16-18) $4,500
- Flight Exploration (Ages 12-18)
Alpha (Day Only) - June 8-12 - No Campus Housing - $2,150
Bravo - June 12-18 - $2,700
Charlie - August 2-8 - $2,700 - Sun Flight June 22 to July 12 and July 19 to August 7 (High School Juniors & Seniors) - $6,500
- Aviation Career Exploration June 23-29 & July 5-11 (Ages 12-18) - $1,575
Kennedy Space Center Camps - Ages 8-14
Camp KSC will fuel kids dreams of space exploration with out-of-this-world summer experiences. Campers are lead through the history of America's space program from the early days of the Mercury program to today's Space Shuttle launches into the future of returning to the Moon and beyond.Classroom activities include training on realistic motion-based space simulators and performing a simulated Space Shuttle mission aboard a full-scale replica of an orbiter and simulated Mission Control. Campers learn teamwork as they perform hands-on, minds-on learning activities related to "Building our Future in Space," the theme of Camp KSC.
