The next time you line up for a ride at Disney World, you may notice other guests breezing past you, bypassing most of the line entirely. Their secret? The little pieces of paper they pass on to the ride attendant at the gate—Fastpasses.
Disney World's Fastpass system is designed to let you spend less time waiting in line, and more time enjoying the rides at your favorite theme park. You'll love passing by the standby line and stepping directly on to some of Disney World's best attractions; and, if you travel in a busy month like July, a Fastpass is a must.
How it works: Guests can get a Fastpass ticket for some of Disney's most popular rides. A Fastpass is a paper ticket that allows you to advance to the head of the line at a given time. It works almost like a dining reservation or like having someone "hold your place" in line. Your ticket will be stamped with a return time, like 12:10-1:10. You will need to return to the attraction at the time stamped on your ticket, show your Fastpass to the ride attendant and enjoy the ride with minimal waiting.
You can only have one Fastpass at a time, and you won't be able to get another one until the time on your ticket has passed.
How to use Fastpass: Fastpass machines are located at select popular attractions. Insert your park ticket into the slot on the Fastpass machine. A paper Fastpass ticket will print out in the tray. You will need a Fastpass for each member of your party.
Who can use Fastpass: Anyone can use Fastpass, it requires a valid park ticket. Kids under three do not have a park ticket, but can ride with a parent.

Fastpass tips:
- Send the fastest member of your party to the fast pass machine when you arrive at the theme park and have them get Fastpasses for everyone. This is particularly important for rides like Toy Story Mania and Soarin'.
- Remember to retrieve your park ticket from the machine before you leave.
- You can't get into line before the time on your ticket, so show up a few minutes after the first time shown.
- Fastpasses are very helpful if you are traveling with kids — waiting in line with a grumpy child isn't fun for anyone!
Fastpass warnings:
- Be sure you really need a Fastpass before you insert your ticket. If the park has recently opened, you may be able to ride without waiting by using the standby line, so get a Fastpass for something you want to enjoy later.
- Some rides have lines that look long, but move quickly. Use Fastpass sparingly at rides like Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and save Fastpasses for slow loading rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad instead. Other ride that you may not need a Fastpass for include Kali River Rapids, Primeval Whirl, and It's Tough to be a Bug.
