Disney World in March

Everything you Need to Know about Visiting Disney in March

Character Topiaries at Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival: Goofy, Donald and Daisy
The Walt Disney Company

February < March > April

Spring arrives early in Florida, but be prepared for cool nights and mornings. Expect high temperatures in the mid to high 70s, but pack some sunblock just in case. Sharp eyed visitors may notice some of Florida's native animals making an appearance, but you won't need to break out the bug spray just yet. Comfortable temperatures and moderate crowds make the early part of March a great time to explore World Showcase or Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park walking trails without suffering from the heat.

Pack your camera! The sun is shining, the flowers are in bloom, and photo opportunities abound as the Disney characters come out to meet guests in a variety of photo-friendly locations.

Crowd Levels:

March crowd levels in Disney World are moderate unless Easter is early in the year, triggering busy Spring Break crowds as families head to the theme parks. If you are visiting during a busy time period, be sure to utilize the FastPass+ program to cut your waiting time significantly.

March marks the start of the annual International Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. Visitors will be treated to an array of special exhibits, playgrounds and interactive attractions. The Flower and Garden Festival also offers fun activity stations for kids and the opportunity to shop with select specialty vendors.

  • If you find yourself in Disney World on March 17th, head to World Showcase's United Kingdom Pavilion and join the St. Patrick's Day festivities.
  • Make dining plans and reservations in advance if you plan on eating at a table service restaurant in Epcot. Hot spots like the Coral Reef and Le Cellier will be very busy as guests flood the park to enjoy the Flower Festival.

Warnings and Cautions:

  • If you are traveling to Disney World by car, be aware that there is a motorcycle festival at the beginning of the month in Daytona Beach. Plan ahead for traffic delays if your travel dates coincide with Bike Week.
  • Check the calendar before booking your trip. Spring Break and Easter weeks are sometimes in March, and are a few of the busiest times at Disney World.
