This tropically themed and brightly colored resort has the feel of the Caribbean villages at your favorite island port of calls — Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique and Trinidad — to give guests an island-vacation experience in moderately priced accommodations. The resort's island "villages" situated on 200 lushly landscaped acres surround a beautiful 42-acre tropical lake that provides many of its recreational opportunities.

Disney's 2,112-room Caribbean Beach Resort's cool pastel colors are carried into its guest rooms. The average 314-square-foot room has two double beds or a king bed and accommodates four comfortably. Roll-a-ways are available in order to sleep a family of five, but moving around the room is difficult when they are in use.

Guestrooms resort-wide were recently renovated and the 384 rooms of Trinidad South received a special makeover. Swashbucklers will delight in pirate-themed furnishings that include unique pirate ship beds (two doubles only), shipping crate dressers and other themed decor.

Room amenities include flat screen TVs, refrigerators, coffee makers, iron and ironing boards. Microwaves are available upon request at no additional charge. ADA handicapped rooms are available.

Guests check in at the islands-style Custom House where guest, concierge and baggage services are located.

The center of the Caribbean Beach Resort is Old Port Royale. It is here that guests find gift shops, game room, lounge, food court, restaurant and the resorts main themed pool. Stone walls, pirates' cannons, tropical birds and foliage add to the festive steetscape setting.

Dining options at Old Port Royale include Shutters, a table-service restaurant featuring pan-seared fish and jerk-roasted ribs. In addition, a variety of counter-service restaurants in the food court serve up plenty of choices including pizza, pasta, hamburgers, soups, salads and poultry. Or, pick up snacks, desserts and drinks at the Grab 'n Go.

• A 1.4-mile promenade around the lake makes a perfect scenic route for those outdoor exercise enthusiasts — strollers, joggers and bicyclists.
• While each individual village has its own pool, guests may prefer to frolic in the main themed pool at Old Town Royale.
• The Barefoot Bay Boat Yard marina rents small sailboats, pontoon boats, canoes and other watercraft.
• Bicycles of all types are available for rent.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is adjacent to Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Guests may take advantage of complimentary transportation to and from the theme, water parks and Downtown Disney.
