Grand Retreat
While the grandest resort on Disney World property is located in the shadow of the Magic Kingdom, along the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon, it feels like another world away. Its stately Victorian architecture stands as a reminder of the grand 19th century resorts, but it has all the advantages of the 21st century — including monorail service that stops right beside the five-story, glass-domed Grand Lobby. The 867-room hotel is the most luxurious on Disney World property, with club-level and suite rooms that include private elevator access, concierge services on each floor and extraordinary in-room amenities.
Dining options are diverse — from pizzas and sandwiches at the Gasparilla Grill and Games to intimate, candlelight gourmet dinners at Victoria & Albert's (the only Disney World restaurant with a dress code). The large Citricos featuring an open-air kitchen and 1900 Park Fare that hosts character dining at breakfast and dinner are favorites with guests. All major dining locations are in the main building except Narcoosee's, an octagon-shaped seafood restaurant along the shoreline where cooks prepare the catch of the day.
The hotels recreation is water oriented, from the white sand beaches on Seven Seas Lagoon to the magnificent pools and marina with rental craft and a children's playground. A full-service spa and health club offers personal pampering to all ages.
